Flick Through Photos With Flickr!

Flickr is a photo image hosting and video sharing network site. The SNS allows users to chat, create and follow groups, and view photo ratings. The Vancouver headquarters was founded by Stewart Butterfield and Caterina Fake, created by Ludicorps in 2004.  The idea of Flickr originally came from the originalGame Neverending online game site.  In 2005, Yahoo! made the $35 million dollar acquisition to seal the deal with Flickr, content had to be transferred from the Canadian servers to United States servers due to the U.S. federal law.  The service allows photographers, graphic designers, and bloggers to embed hosted images into their blogs.   Flickr has three accounts for users Free, Ad Free, and Doublr.  Users can indicate the terms of the uploaded images either creative commons (CC), or holds a copyright.  Geotagging can also be applied to images.  The Verge reported that their are nearly 4 million uploaded images per day and close to 90 million registered users. Flickr has a great mobile app for iOS and Androids.   Sources: Flickr.com"Flickr" Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Wikimedia Foundation, Inc, n.d. Web. 18 Feb. 2014.
